Park City, UT - Utah's three Wasatch Back ski resorts -- Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons Resort and Deer Valley Resort -- will host the second annual Wasatch Backside Lifty Invitational (WBLI) Mar. 29 through Apr. 2, 2010. The event is held "to recognize the hard work of our lift operations teams," says Jeff Marzka, lift operations manager at Park City Mountain Resort.

Snowbird, UT - The 2010 Subaru Freeskiing World Tour came to a close Sunday on Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort’s North Baldy venue at the Subaru Freeskiing World Championships. The crowd on hand surpassed Saturday’s semi-final by two fold; there were rows upon rows of dug out snow benches, the smell of burgers on travel grills and the random toots from horns and megaphones, all in support of the remaining athletes that have made it through the Tour gauntlet.

Snowbird, UT - For the first time in the history of the Subaru Freeskiing World Tour (FWT), Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort will host the final stop of the tour on the Utah ski area's famed Silver Fox and North Baldy venues. An international field of the world's best skiers will descend upon the Wasatch Mountains next week, March 16-21, to battle for overall World Tour points and for the Subaru Freeskiing World Championships title.

Park City, UT - Park City Mountain Resort will host a Shred-a-Thon benefiting the Salt Lake City Chill Program this Saturday. Proceeds from this event will directly benefit the 120 inner-city youth from Salt Lake City that participate in the local non-profit instructional program.

Huntsville, UT - Two days of events have been scheduled at Snowbasin to benefit Snowbasin Adaptive Sports Education Foundation (SASEF), a non-profit organization providing snowsports opportunities to the disabled community to enjoy with their families and friends. The weekend will help SASEF raise funds to purchase additional adaptive equipment and programs.

Park City, UT - Silver medalist Brett Camerota, a member of the team that earned the first-ever U.S. medal in the Olympic Nordic Combined team relay in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada last month, will be at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City on Friday to meet aspiring kid athletes in his own hometown.

Park City, UT - The Winter Sports School in Park City saw seven alumni compete at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, and three of them brought home medals. Steve Holcomb (class of '97) won gold in the four-man bobsled; Julia Mancuso ('00) won two silver medals in alpine ski racing; and Andrew Weibrecht ('03) brought home bronze, also in alpine racing. The college prep school's alumni Olympic medal count is now six, including Ted Ligety's gold medal in Alpine Combined at the 2006 Torino Winter Games, and Mancuso's gold in Giant Slalom also in Torino.

Park City, UT - Ski Utah held its annual media appreciation day last Friday. The day started with a wonderful morning of powder skiing at Park City Mountain Resort featuring 17 inches of "The Greatest Snow on Earth." After skiing, local media were treated to a delicious lunch at the world's only slopeside gastro-distillery, Hight West Distillery in Park City, where awards were presented to the Journalist of the Year, Harriet Wallis, and Weather Enthusiast of the Year, Brett Benson.

SheJumps is working with Salt Lake City Boys and Girls Clubs to teach 20-plus teens who wouldn’t have a chance otherwise how to ski over four weekends this March.
