Park City, UT - Skiing at Deer Valley Resort comes at a premium price, but the Utah ski area’s selection of "Locals Specials," including season passes, Locals Coupon Books and Buddy Passes have been on sale for locals looking forward to ski season since June. Yet with Labor Day fast approaching and a November 30, 2008 deadline for first-time purchasers of Locals specials, Deer Valley Resort is encouraging skiers to take advantage of the ski resort's discounted offerings at the upcoming "Sniagrab" sale event at the Sports Authority store in Murray, Utah over the Labor Day weekend.

Eden, UT - The annual Intermountain Ski Areas Association (ISAA) conference gathered recently at Wolf Creek Utah in Eden. The conference attendance was the highest in years, with resort personnel from five states and vendors from across the country attending this annual event.

Brian Head, UT - The primary owner, President and CEO of Utah's Brian Head ski resort, Jim Trees, died suddenly on Monday, June 2 of cardiac arrest while on his daily walk in Tiburton, Calif. He was 69.

Alta, UT - Utah's venerable Alta Ski Area will celebrate 70 years of skiing this upcoming season. On October 19, 1938, the Forest Service issued the initial permit to construct a ski lift at Alta to the Salt Lake Winter Sports Association. Alta officially opened as a ski area that December.

Park City, UT - Deer Valley Resort President and General Manager Bob Wheaton announced this week that the Utah ski resort will double its seasonal work force housing capacity for the 2008-09 ski season.
