Park City, UT - Colder temperatures have finally arrived after warm weather and a lack of precipitation has affected Utah for the past two weeks. After delaying its scheduled Nov. 22 ski season opening, Park City Mountain Resort will open for the 2008-09 winter this Friday with the PayDay and First Time chairlifts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Park City, UT - Persistent warm, dry weather has prompted The Canyons Resort outside of Park City to delay its ski and snowboard season debut to December 5th. The ski area was originally scheduled to open this Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.

Salt Lake City, UT - Over 5,000 snow enthusiasts gathered Sat., Nov. 15 at the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City to welcome winter back to the Wasatch, even as temperatures felt more like spring than winter. The free event, hosted by Ski Utah, featured a multitude of family activities including music by “The Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash,” “Cavedoll,” and “Junior Giant.” Families enjoyed ice skating under the stars, marshmallow roasting, a photo booth, climbing wall, a kid’s zone, complete with a sledding hill, and more. Many happy fans walked away with autographs from over 30 of their favorite ski and snowboard athletes including Jeremy Jones, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Julian Carr, Jenn Berg, Jamie Pierre, Grete Eliassen, Ashley Battersby, Stevie Bell and more.

Park City, UT - Stein Eriksen Lodge at Utah's Deer Valley ski resort has announced an ambitious goal to raise $50,000 to aid the Huntsman Cancer Institute's "Room to Heal" campaign to double the Institute's space for healing and hope. To achieve the desired contribution, the Lodge has appointed one of its luxurious junior suites as "The Giving Room" where 10 percent of the total room revenue generated from the suite will be donated to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City.
