Snowbird, UT - Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort officially unveiled two new social media tools this week for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts: an iPhone application and a Twitter feed with mountain updates from the Utah resort's Ski Patrol and Snow Safety.

Salt Lake City, UT - This January will be the second National Learn a Snow Sport Month celebrated at alpine ski resorts, nordic ski centers, and state and national parks all across the United States. Thirty-two states will offer free or discounted ski, snowboard, and cross-country ski or snowshoe lessons throughout the month of January. Utah will roll out a month of great beginner deals for Utah locals with its Lucky 13 promotion.

Huntsville, UT - The Snow Safety division at Snowbasin will host a "Know Before you Go" avalanche awareness class on Saturday, Jan. 9. The class will be held in Earl's Lodge at the Utah ski and snowboard resort near Ogden, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge for the hour-long class, which will be presented by G.R. Fletcher and Frank Waikhart of Snowbasin, and Craig Gordon of the Utah Avalanche Center.

Salt Lake City, UT - Beginning this Sunday, Utah Transit Authority (UTA) will begin regular ski service to resorts in Big and Little Cottonwood canyons, including Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude. UTA will also begin service to Sundance Ski Resort in Utah County.
