A day early and not a moment too soon for skiers longing to enjoy Utah's famous snow, Brighton Ski Resort opened today a day ahead of schedule after numerous early season storms teased the locals. The early opening marked the start of the ski and snowboard season in Utah.

Park City, UT - Deer Valley Resort staff will host the "Transylvania Tea Party" blood drive, a Halloween season tradition at the Utah ski resort, next Friday, Oct. 29. The Transylvania Tea Party Blood Drive was started seven years ago by Deer Valley employees who wanted to help local health care facilities augment their blood supplies. Members of the public are also welcome to donate blood at Deer Valley next Friday.

Denver, CO - Despite ongoing economic fluctuations and decreased consumer confidence, western mountain destinations including those in Utah posted a 15.8 percent increase in actual occupancy compared to September 2009 according to the latest data released by Mountain Travel Research Program (MTRiP). This represents the biggest monthly increase in more than two years and first increase over pre-recession levels in 2008. Early indicators are positive as well for the ski and snowboard season ahead.
