Brighton, UT - The Big LePowSki, a weekend of on-snow education, clinics and freeriding with some of the most influential athletes in the ski and snowboard industry today, is slated for Utah's Brighton Ski Resort Feb. 26-28. The event is open to the masses and includes no competitions. The Big LePowSki invites the everyday season pass holder, weekend warrior, off-piste skier or après ski enthusiast to do what they love most in wintertime, with their favorite rock star ski athlete.

Park City, UT - Breckenridge, Colo. skier Angeli VanLaanen earned a big win last Friday in her first World Cup skiing competition, winning the Visa Freestyle International skier halfpipe competition by nearly two points over Canadian Megan Gunning. French skiers Kevin Rolland and Xavier Bertoni dominated the men's pipe, with teenager Walter Wood (Evergreen, CO) third.

Snowbird, UT - The final and super final rounds of The North Face Masters of Snowboarding's first stop of the season wrapped up Saturday at Utah's Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort. The field of nearly 50 competitors who advanced from Friday's first round made the early morning hike up to Snowbird's North Baldy venue for the finals. The field was then cut to six women and 14 men for the ultimate super finals showdown. In the end Snowbird local Shannan Yates, who dominated all week long took the overall women's title, while Matt Annetts of Morrisville, Vermont, eclipsed some of the sport's best riders to win the men's title.

Snowbird, UT - Taking a page from the popular Freeskiing World Tour (FWT), which sells out each year, Mountain Sports International (MSI) has partnered with the International Freeskiers Association (IFSA) to produce several events on the newest freeskiing tour to hit North America, the Junior Freeskiing Tour (JFT). With two age groups, 12-14 year-olds and 15-17 year-olds, the JFT will fill a gap in the freeskiing industry by allowing younger athletes the opportunity to compete on a world stage and gain invaluable experience. The Junior Freeskiing Nationals at Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort in Utah will take place March 8-10, 2009.
