Park City, UT - Park City Mountain Resort's winter calendar has been expanded this year to include The Intelligent Design (IDPC), a new snowboard competition set for the spectator-friendly Pick 'N Shovel terrain park and Eagle Superpipe on Saturday, March 7. Some of the world's best snowboarders, including Shaun White, Torstein Horgmo and Andreas Wiig, will compete on a uniquely designed course that includes big air, half-pipe and jibbing for a piece of the $50,000 prize purse.

Liberec, Czech Republic - Lindsey Van's goggles were so fogged Friday that she basically had to jump blind. The ski jumper from Park City, Utah, couldn't see past her ski tips. She had to make the biggest landing of her life—"just by feel"—on the biggest stage afforded so far to women jumpers.

Liberec, Czech Republic - Lindsey Van (Park City, UT) stunned the field with a massive second jump Friday to become her sport's first world champion. Van, tied for fourth after the first jump, soared 97.5 meters to take a strong win over first round leader Ulrike Graessler of Germany in the debut of women's ski jumping at the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Liberec.

Liberec, Czech Republic - Four Utah women will ski jump Friday in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec, finally reaching the pinnacle of their sport. It’s the first Nordic World Championships in which women are allowed to participate, 15 years after the first woman forejumped in the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway.

W. Lebanon, NH - Nordica USA, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, this week announced a voluntary recall of approximately 4,500 pairs of XBi ALU skis sold between August 2006 and December 2008. Although no injuries have been reported, officials indicate that binding plates could crack or break, causing the skier to lose control or fall and suffer injuries.

Val d'Isere, France - The U.S. Ski Team's Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) came from behind Friday to win the giant slalom bronze medal with the fastest second run in the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Val d'Isere. Ligety spoke with journalists on an international media conference from France.
