Park City, UT - U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) Alpine Director Jesse Hunt is leaving the organization to take over leadership of the Park City Ski Team, a USSA club program, according to USSA Vice President, Athletics, Luke Bodensteiner. Hunt is a former national team member who has worked for the USSA as a coach and program director for 16 years.

Park City, UT - Deer Valley Resort announced on Friday that the Utah ski resort will be expanding its operations to include a property management division. The resort will pursue management of properties within the Deer Valley area, allowing them to extend their services beyond the slopes for the first time. To head up the new division, Kim McClelland has been appointed Director of Lodging Operations.

Park City, UT - Following the Rossignol Group's announcement last week that it was laying off a third of its work force and consolidating business operations to ensure its survival, the ski company announced on Friday that it was asking its team athletes and employees to accept a cut in compensation to "play their part" in the company's recovery.

Park City, UT - Olympic champions Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) and Julia Mancuso (Olympic Valley, CA) were among numerous national athletes on hand as the first round of U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding competitors made their way into the new Center of Excellence in Park City. The national training and education center opened its doors to athletes this week in preparation for the Olympics in Vancouver just over nine months away.

Eden, UT - Powder Mountain is hosting the first annual ski benefit this Friday for the family of Brett S. Earl. Earl, a resident of the nearby town of Eden, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on April 11 at the age of 39. One-hundred percent of the proceeds of the ski benefit will go directly to the Earl family – Darnelle, Riley, Raj, Taj and India.
