Eden, UT - Wolf Creek Utah in Eden is ringing in the New Year with a party for the whole family. A holiday lift ticket provides all-day skiing or snowboarding and a lot more, including evening fireworks, a midnight torchlight parade and party with a bonfire, music, dancing and games.

Eden, UT - Utah's Powder Mountain will extend night skiing hours on Dec. 31 to 12:15 a.m. so that New Year's revelers can count down the beginning of 2010 on the slopes.

Huntsville, UT - The Snow Safety division at Snowbasin will host a "Know Before you Go" avalanche awareness class on Saturday, Jan. 9. The class will be held in Earl's Lodge at the Utah ski and snowboard resort near Ogden, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge for the hour-long class, which will be presented by G.R. Fletcher and Frank Waikhart of Snowbasin, and Craig Gordon of the Utah Avalanche Center.

Midway, UT - World Champion Todd Lodwick of Steamboat Springs, Colo. swept his way through a blizzard to take his second straight win an International Ski Federation Nordic Combined Continental Cup at Soldier Hollow Sunday. Austrian Tomaz Druml was second and Germany's Steffen Tepel third, matching the podium ranking from the event's opening competition on Saturday.
