Park City, UT - The 2011 backcountry.com U.S. Ski Jumping Championships wrapped up Sunday morning in Park City with the large hill competition. Both Peter Frenette (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) and Lindsey Van (Park City, Utah) won their second U.S. Championships title of the weekend. This marks Van's 15th U.S. Championship title and Frenette's second.

Park City, UT - The 2011 backcountry.com U.S. Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Championships were underway in Park City Friday morning with athletes jumping on the K90. Peter Frenette of Saranac Lake, N.Y., and Park City's own Lindsey Van were crowned 2011 Normal Hill U.S. Champions.

Park City, UT - U.S. Olympic and World Championship medalists have been in Utah this week training on the Olympic venues, the Utah Olympic Park and Soldier Hollow, for the 2011 backcountry.com U.S. Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Championships that get underway today and last through Sunday in Park City, marking the third year the traditionally wintertime event has held its championships in summertime.

Salt Lake City, UT - The sweltering dog days of summer in Utah will eventually give way to a refreshing burst of winter, and Ski Utah will kick-off their official 100 day countdown to the ski season on Aug. 7 at the Salt Lake City Farmer's Market. Ski Utah will take one dollar donations in exchange for flavorful yellow snow cones provided by Snowie to benefit Wasatch Backcountry Rescue (WBR) avalanche dogs. Dogs will also be on hand to perform skills demonstrations and Utah ski resorts will hand out doggy bags full of swag and resort information.

Park City, UT - Earlier this month, the U.S. Men's Alpine Ski Team was sliding around on the ice rink at their summer hockey camp at the Park City Ice Arena. Nearly the entire men's team flocked to Park City for the training session, including 2006 Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety and 2010 Olympic bronze medalist Andrew Weibrecht.

Park City, UT - The Park City Planning Commission on Wednesday approved Park City Mountain Resort's plan to expand night skiing operations to the ski area's Three Kings lift. In addition, the runs serviced by the lift -- Three Kings, Quicksilver and Pick 'n Shovel -- will receive snowmaking, and existing night skiing terrain off the PayDay and First Time lifts will benefit from brighter, more energy-efficient lighting.
