Park City, UT - The 2010 World Cup Rookie of the Year, the U.S. Ski Team's Heidi Kloser, has been busy this summer, traveling from her Vail, Colo. home to split her time training between Lake Placid, N.Y. and Park City. Kloser has dedicated her summer to flying high at the Lake Placid and Utah Olympic Park water ramps.

Steamboat Springs, CO - Bryan Fletcher of Steamboat Springs, a member of the U.S. Ski Team's Nordic Combined squad, will be mounting his bike in September in southern Utah to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Fletcher was chosen to be a team hero for the ride, sharing his story with the world.

Sandy, UT - Halfpipe snowboarder Louie Vito's 2009-10 season kicked off with a different kind of competition on ABC's hit TV show Dancing with the Stars. But when it was time to qualify for the Olympics, the Sandy, Utah resident was a staple at each snowboarding event throwing down double corks on the road to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Vito hasn't slowed down this summer, stomping the grounds of Europe, Los Angeles, Mt. Hood and Utah.

El Colorado, Chile - Saturday in El Colorado, ski patrol opened up the entire south slope of Max's Face, making the already enormous South American venue for the 2010 The North Face Chilean Freeskiing Championships even larger. The added terrain allowed the 35 finalists more space and potential for bigger and more creative lines. And when the snow settled, it was Drew Stoecklein of Sandy, Utah, who finished atop the leader board.

Snowbird, UT - Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort's annual Oktoberfest celebrates its 38th anniversary this year with eight weekends of festivities beginning today. More than 50,000 visitors are expected to enjoy one of Utah's largest festivals, which includes live music, dancing, authentic German food and children's activities at Snowbird every Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day through Oct. 10.

Oberwiesenthal, Germany - The U.S. women's ski jumping crew were flying through the sky on Friday, competing in the Oberwiesenthal Continental Cup. Park City's Sarah Hendrickson stomped on the podium in third. Austria's Jacqueline Seifriedsberger won the event.

Denver, CO - While the U.S. economy remains unstable with declines in major indicators including continued high unemployment rates and flat retail and real estate sales, the overall travel industry continues to rebound. Mountain destinations across the western U.S. participating in the Mountain Travel Research Program (MTRiP) experienced sharp increases in July occupancy as well as increases in the advance reservations outlook for the next few months.
