Sandy, UT - Halfpipe snowboarder Louie Vito's 2009-10 season kicked off with a different kind of competition on ABC's hit TV show Dancing with the Stars. But when it was time to qualify for the Olympics, the Sandy, Utah resident was a staple at each snowboarding event throwing down double corks on the road to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Vito hasn't slowed down this summer, stomping the grounds of Europe, Los Angeles, Mt. Hood and Utah.

El Colorado, Chile - Saturday in El Colorado, ski patrol opened up the entire south slope of Max's Face, making the already enormous South American venue for the 2010 The North Face Chilean Freeskiing Championships even larger. The added terrain allowed the 35 finalists more space and potential for bigger and more creative lines. And when the snow settled, it was Drew Stoecklein of Sandy, Utah, who finished atop the leader board.

Denver, CO - While the U.S. economy remains unstable with declines in major indicators including continued high unemployment rates and flat retail and real estate sales, the overall travel industry continues to rebound. Mountain destinations across the western U.S. participating in the Mountain Travel Research Program (MTRiP) experienced sharp increases in July occupancy as well as increases in the advance reservations outlook for the next few months.
