Park City, UT - Thursday was a day that many students at Parley's Elementary School in Park City won't soon forget. An ordinary school day quickly turned into a nice surprise when U.S. Snowboardcross athletes Jonathan Cheever, Alex Deibold, and X Games gold medalist Nick Baumgartner strolled in the front doors.

Huntsville, UT - In the final competitions for the season, the amateur snowboarders and freeskiers took to the 22-foot pipe at Utah's Snowbasin Resort for a chance to make their professional debut at next season's Winter Dew Tour. Coming out for the women's contest was Natalie Geer, and taking the top spot for the men was Joseph "J.D." Mensch. The pair will participate in the December prelims of the 2011-12 Winter Dew Tour. Aspen, Colo.'s Alex Ferreira rode out his success of the season by topping the podium and winning a spot in next season's Winter Dew Tour contest.

Huntsville, UT - Newly crowned World Champion, Park City, Utah's Alex Schlopy, made it two wins in two weekends, laying down a solid slopestyle skiing run for a home-state win at the Winter Dew Tour at Snowbasin in Utah. Canada's Kaya Turski won the women's event and with a fourth-place finish, Bobby Brown of Breckenridge, Colo., took the overall Dew Tour title.

Huntsville, UT - It was Kelly Clark's world, and we were all just observers Saturday night as the two-time Olympic medalist from West Dover, Vt., threw down her newly patented 1080 to take the win and overall title in halfpipe at the Winter Dew Tour at Snowbasin Resort in Utah. Luke Mitrani, of Mammoth Mountain, Calif., won the men's competition, but Sandy, Utah's Louie Vito, who won the tour's previous two stops, took the overall title.

Huntsville, UT - The first day of competitions saw top amateur snowboarders and freeskiers take to the Winter Dew Tour's slopestyle course at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals at Snowbasin Resort on Saturday. 20-year-old Danika Duffy won the women's snowboard contest, while Brendan Hart of Meredith, N.H. took the title for the men. In freeski, Camino, Calif.'s Robby Franco continued his winning streak by topping the podium in Utah.

Park City, UT - Stratton Mountain, Vt.'s Lindsey Jacobellis and home mountain rider Jonathan Cheever, of Saugus, Mass., took charge of a technical snowboardcross course Saturday, landing a pair of U.S. Championship titles at the Sprint U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix at Park City's Canyons Resort.

Huntsville, UT - Everything was on the line for Frenchman Kevin Rolland heading into Saturday's freeski superpipe final at the Winter Dew Tour's Toyota Championship at Snowbasin Resort in Huntsville. Rolland and Simon Dumont, of Bethel, Maine, had flip flopped first and second all year, but it was Rolland who came out on top to earn his second win of the season and his first-ever Dew Cup. On the women's front, Brita Sigourney of Carmel, Calif. took top honors at the freeski superpipe final with a final score of 92.00 to lead an American podium sweep for the women.

Boulder, CO - Just like no two snow flakes are exactly the same, no two snowstorms are exactly the same. Most resorts report the number of inches of new snow accumulation, which of course is the major data point for most people. However, savvy skiers know that new snow depth is just one guide of how much fun you'll have on the hill. Another very important aspect is the density of new snow, which is different for each snow storm. Low density, fluffy snow can often make the best memories, but it's also somewhat rare.

Brian Head, UT - Celebrating both its scenic setting and the prodigious amount of "The Greatest Snow on Earth" it receives annually, Brian Head Resort (BHR) in southern Utah is hosting a "Best Picture and Video Contest." The resort will award winners for both the best photo and the best video on Apr. 1 during Brian Head Resort's annual Spring Carnival. Both the best still picture and best video will earn season passes for both the remainder of this winter season and for the 2011-12 winter season.
