Park City, UT - Ski Utah held its annual media appreciation day last Friday. The day started with a wonderful morning of powder skiing at Park City Mountain Resort featuring 17 inches of "The Greatest Snow on Earth." After skiing, local media were treated to a delicious lunch at the world's only slopeside gastro-distillery, Hight West Distillery in Park City, where awards were presented to the Journalist of the Year, Harriet Wallis, and Weather Enthusiast of the Year, Brett Benson.

Alta, UT - SheJumps, a Salt Lake City-based non-profit, is launching its second season of (S)heJumps Into the Canyon: Empowering SLC Teens in the Wasatch. SheJumps is working with Salt Lake City Boys and Girls Clubs to teach 20-plus teens who wouldn’t have a chance otherwise how to ski over four weekends this March.

Alta, UT - The Alta Environmental Center, along with partners Town of Alta, Friends of Alta, and Alta Community Enrichment, have reached new heights with the Idle Free Utah campaign since joining in 2008. Initial efforts to reduce vehicle pollution in Utah's Little Cottonwood Canyon began with a joint purchase for Idle Free car decals to supply to the public free of charge. Since then the partners increased their efforts to create a comprehensive and consistent program of awareness with posters, Alta Ski Area employee education and newsletters.

Logan Canyon, UT - Beaver Mountain ski area in Logan Canyon will hold another public night for skiing and snowboarding to benefit the Logan Food Pantry tonight. Bring two non-perishable food items to earn a $5 night lift ticket, normally $12 without donation. During the public night, ski rentals will cost $10 (snowboards $12) and first-time beginner lessons will be offered for those age five and up for $5.
