Snowbird Hosts Night For Sight Benefit Dinner/Auction Saturday(85 Reads)

The fundraising event will feature presentations from Dr. Geoffrey Tabin and acclaimed blind adventurer Erik Weihenmayer. Dr. Tabin is a professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Utah and Director of International Ophthalmology at the Moran Eye Center, as well as the co-founder of the Himalayan Cataract Project. Dr. Tabin was recently featured on the cover of National Geographic Adventure for his humanitarian efforts.
Joining Dr. Tabin is Erik Weihenmayer, an accomplished climber who completed his Seven Summits voyage in 2008 and still stands as the only blind climber to reach the peak of Everest. Weihenmayer is a renowned inspirational speaker, appearing at the 2008 Presidential Inaguaral Celebration, and will be sharing stories and images from his journeys on Saturday evening.
The event is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Cliff Ballroom at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort with silent and live auctions and dinner prepared by Snowbird’s Chef Bruce Phillips.
